RAID means Redundant Array of Independent Disks. Generally it is developed in a manner such that by using the technique of redundancy we can increase the storage reliability.

The main goal of raid systems is to increase the input and out performance, and data reliability. When such kind of disks is grouped together using the technology of raid, then it is said to be raid array.
