Ever since the debut of the first Android Honeycomb tablet, a lot of similar devices have been flooding the market. While some are slim others are better equipped with quality gadgets such as cameras, ports and the like. However one common thing about all of them is that they run the same software on 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor.
The Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is none other than one more addition to the group. The device is available in three colors namely red, white, and black. When compared with its competitors in the category Lenovo IdeaPad K1 takes a middle path. It cannot be awarded any of the superlatives during the description. In short, it is a modest design with reasonable price tag.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1 has a two-tone design and sports a combination of strong aluminum and shiny plastic shell and 10.1 in screen. The tablet provides the user with a feel good experience while at use. One of the most gossiped features of Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is the dedicated home button which is wisely placed on the right hand side of the screen. Although the physical button seems to be unfashionable, it has a few easy to use actions. For example, you can capture the screenshot by holding the button downward and swiping the button down backs out of apps and menu. Except that it gets triggered off often as you hold the instrument, the actions are quite commendable.
On the left is located the power switch, volume control, screen orientation lock and a microSD card slot. The bottom of the instrument houses the Micro-HDMI port, a headphone jack and a sock for input that serves the twin purpose of charging as well as USB sync. While the front houses a 2 megapixel camera, the back side has a 5 megapixel camera with flash.
Lenovo IdeaPad K1 is equipped with Android 3.1 and comes with over 30 apps pre installed in it. Some of the renowned ones include Netflix, Kindle, and the like, while in-house apps include Social touch and Lenovo App Shop. Some of the features you would like include Google’s mobile apps for Maps, Gmail, Navigation, Books, and Google Talk. The honeycomb browser is housed inside an editable dash board which is named as Lenovo launcher by the company. It houses some of the generic actions watching videos, reading e-mail, listening to music, and reading books etc.
As far as pros are concerned Lenovo IdeaPad K1 has a greater capacity than its other competitors in the market. Handling the tablet is comparatively easy. Screen resolution much better than other players in the arena. Battery holds charge for quite a long time. When it comes to cons of the tablet, performance of the cameras are very average when compared with the equivalent products in the market. Audio quality is not up to the mark.
In conclusion it is a good choice for those who love android platform and in search of 32GB capacity at a competitive price.
